Its more than words....

It's more than words, it is action.....

I was reading through some of my Beth Moore study which to be honest I got a little behind on with all the sickness that has plagued our house this spring but I am determined to finish it even if it takes all summer.

Anyway, I was reading James 1:22-25 "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and after looking at himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it-he will be blessed in what he does."

It made me think of this simple thought.....It's not just words, it is actions....

I don't believe that God's word was created just for it to sit on a shelf to become outdated and worthless. God's word is after all HIS divine word that He inspired. God's not outdated or worthless. To often we get wrapped up in what everyone else thinks of us and what everyone else thinks of God instead of standing firm on one thing. His word. We can read the Bible, we can hear verses in church, or see them on signs, bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc. But we don't put them into action, what then? Do you really take God's word seriously and put it to action (now I am not saying that it is the easiest thing to do) but do you at least try to put action behind the words? God gives us the instructions for life, He gives us the answers to every problem. All within the Bible. You would be amazed opening your heart and mind to the word of God and letting Him reveal to you how awesome He really is.
