"Live like no one else, so later you can live like no one else."

If you have ever heard Dave Ramsey then you know this quote that he says frequently. Our family has found ourselves facing a mountain of student loans that need to be paid back. What a mountain to climb if you have ever found yourself there. It's not just one of us with student loans it is both of us with student loans. We needed a plan, a BIG plan, one that would get us out of debt once and for all.

God brought us a big plan through Dave Ramsey, this plan would include things that we have been trying to work toward on our own for years but finally a plan that was radical enough that we know it will get the job done. Maybe radical is not the right word, why have come to a place where debt is normal, and spending money we don't have is ok? How did we get here? We have not used the resources that God has set before us wisely. So here we are up to our shoulders in debt and ready to break out, with God's help. We know this won't be easy and we know it won't be fun but I am not looking at that piece of the picture, I am looking at financial freedom, debt free, not having to be stressed about our finanical situation. 

When we started this one of the eye openers that God set before us was that we didn't want our children to grow up with debt, we wanted them to learn early on how to spend, save, and give....(I will share more of how we are doing that later on.) To us this is so important to teach our children that this is God's money that He has blessed us with and we are responsible for how we use it, we are also responsible to use every resource wisely. This journey is going to take some time, it won't change over night but we are commited to making it work and we have seen God work through it all.
