No matter how you slice it, I love the first day of school....
There is just something about it...whether you are in public, private or homeschool, the first day of school is the best. I have started a tradition in our house of a big first day of school breakfast, all decorated and school themed (pictures below) My other favorite tradition is filling up her book bag with treats, supplies and more!
Yea, I know what your thinking....you homeschool what in the world does she need a book bag for? Well this year we are starting co-op and she will need one but it is a tradition that my parents did every year with a new book bag...something about it was always so fun! A perk our book bags are so gently used that we can donate them to families in need the following fall.
Maybe it is because we homeschool but I love the idea of making school special and I think that it is something that everyone should do no matter how they educate their kids...School is such an important time in their lives, a time when they will learn so much and it should be celebrated...
