Boasting in my weakness....

Jesus calls to us and says come unto me when you are weak and weary and rest snuggly in my everlasting arms.

In my favorite devotion Jesus Calling on August 12, it said "Do not despise your weakness....rather than struggling to disguise or deny your weakness, allow me to bless you through it."

Do you ever feel weak? If you don't I certainly do...Too weak to speak up, too weak to get through the every day tasks and trials, too weak to face the battlefield of life. Maybe you feel like your weakness is anxiety or anger, fear or food is your weakness. 

2 Corinthians 12:9 "But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

Oh how God can greatly use us in our weakness, when we lay it down at His feet; even if we are sick like Paul was....God still displayed His power through Paul. The world tells us that weakness will hold you back, it will ruin you...the world tells our children that showing weakness will get them made fun of or picked on, but God says that He is made perfect in weakness. When we humble our flesh before Him and show our weakness He will gain great power. We cannot hide our weakness from God, but we have to be able to admit when we are weak. Why? Because just like the song...."when they are weak, He is strong." God is our power and our strength when we are weak, when we are sick, when we are anxious, afraid, frustrated and tired. He is our power and our strength, His power is made perfect in our weakness.

"In admitting our weakness we affirm God's strength."
