Open your bible {day 1 & day 2}

What holds us back from Gods word? What keeps us from getting our feet wet and meeting the savior right where we are? I have always been fearful of being wrong, messing up, or not understanding. My doubt of not feeling smart enough has been my stumbling block to really digging deep into Gods word.

I love the Bible; His word transforms, renews, inspires, encourages, trains, teaches, guides. Scripture has come alive as I have drawn closer to The Lord. It's still relevant (regardless of what the world says) it's still holy and true, even the parts that tell us we are wrong in how we are going about our lives. It tells of his great love, the same love that changed my life!

The beauty is he gave us his word because he knew we would need it. How did he know? Well get a look at his word Psalm 139 (one of my favorites) says "thou has searched me and thou hast known me..." God knows just what we need.

How do you approach the word of God? This study opened my eyes to a truth I never thought of...one of the most powerful in awe of God moments for me if beautiful mountain views, beach views, watching the sunrise or sunset...those all leave me in awe of our mighty God...but do we approach his word with the same awe? A word that he breathed for us! It is a beautiful thought that we should approach Gods word with as much awe and amazement because it speaks to our lives.

Through this my prayer is God will open our eyes to his scripture, guide us and give us understanding...open Your bible and approach it reverently.
