Back to School Blog Hop {Curriculum}

Not Back to School Blog Hop
I cannot believe it is already Back to School time! This week is all about Curriculum and what the Princess will be learning this year....I am excited about all that she will be learning this year!

 {Language Arts}
LifePac-Language Arts Kindergarten
We really love LifePac, their curriculum is perfect for Kindergarten age children who cannot read yet and it really gives you some room to make it your own and make it work for your child.

{Math}
LifePac-Math Kindergarten
LifePac Math uses Bible stories to help teach Math lessons. We are also going to be doing a daily math journal with a math prompt, those I found online or came up with my own prompts.

{Health}
Horizons-Health Kindergarten
While most would not choose to do Health I think that it is a great elective to do twice a week and it teachs them about How God made them special and unique, it covers your family, healthy eating, and healthy habits like taking care of yourself. The Hubby and I both decided that this would be worth the extra time.

{Bible}
Positive Action-Kindergarten
We actually stumbled across this at convention this year, I am so excited about this curriculum, it is so bright and colorful and covers a variety of Bible Stories and is perfect for Kindergarten. We are also going to be watching the {What's in the Bible with Buck Denver} Dvds. The Dvds are from the makers of Veggie Tales and I even enjoy watching them!

{Science/Social Studies}
Something we have come up with on our own plus a variety of products we have found}
So there are not many curriculums out there for Science and Social Studies for Kindergarten, while more emphasis comes on these subjects after kindergarten I wanted to do some with her now. We are going to explore the 50 states and even talk about presidents...We are going to learn that there is a Big world that God created. For Science we are going to explore and use our Science notebooks to explore what God has made using prompts from our Bible Curriculm and ones that we have created on our own. I will feature these notebooks in the coming weeks.

{For Mom}
This was probably one of the best purchases I have ever made! It keeps me organized with all my lessons and what needs to be done, plus attendance, grades, etc. (even a section for Christmas Planning!)

{Field Trips}
So  this year so far I have a few trips planned, I am sure there will be more as the months go one....
Apple Festival in the Mountains, Pumpkin Patch, Mountain exploration day, Discovery Place, etc.

Needless to say we have a full and fun year ahead. I cannot wait to share it with you, Good Luck as all the kids head Back to School!
