Science: Butterfly Unit
I wanted to share with you what we worked on for our Science Unit study this month.
We learned all about the Butterfly! This is a common unit to study this time of the year and we really had a great time doing several activities!
Here are the worksheets and projects we did for this unit:
Butterfly writing practice
This is a super cute booklet about the life cycle of a butterfly
We also incorporated art and did water color butterfly paintings.
All of this led up to our butterfly farm trip
This was such a great field trip to take and so much fun
we learned a lot, we learned about each part of the butterfly and that they use their knees to hear, feet to taste and antenna's to smell.
When we entered the butterfly house they were flying everywhere it was so beautiful! They would land on you....what a great learning environment!
We got to look at the Chrysalis up close and see the different stages before they come out as butterflies.
We also got to see the caterpillar eating the milkweed plants.
Such a great unit study...I cannot wait to do it again in the spring and get our life cycle plants!
What did you do for your butterfly unit?
