The ten year snow....

We have been snowed in for the last few days, I'm certainly not complaining. I have made it a goal of mine to make my house a home I don't mind being in....one that my family is comfortable to be in and content with. One thing I love about winter is snow and usually living here in North Carolina snow is rare and a really good snow is even more rare....so we have experienced what they have now quoted as being an epic ten year snow. Well it certainly lived up to the hype, 8.5 inches of snow and sleet, 3 days later and here we are.

Just the beginning...

A few hours later....

You have to make the most of a snow like this....so we baked cookies, played in the snow, and of course potato soup.

The next morning.....

It was so beautiful, I absolutely love the snow.

It's not often the 4 of us get stuck in the house together for days, I'm soaking it all in. It has gotten a little loud but I can't help but be reminded how God still tells us we need to be still. Our lives are so busy and this week would have been no exception, but God had his way and told us it is time to be still, take in my beauty, and draw closer together. So we have been in the house going on four days and I'm grateful, I'm grateful for the beauty and the hand of God showing up in our lives even in the cold winter....pull that lesson into your life...when we find ourselves in a cold winter season whether in our spiritual lives, parenting, marriage, or just a bitter season...God always shows up with a solution. Enjoy the snow and be still.
